Thousands of grieving Thai royalists lined the streets of Bangkok on October 26, 2025, saluting a procession bringing the body of former Queen Sirikit to lie in state for a year-long funeral at the capital’s Grand Palace. Queen Sirikit was the wife of Thailand’s longest-reigning monarch and the mother of the current King Vajiralongkorn. She died at the age of 93 on October 24, 2025.
