Hvert år oentliggør det britiske magasin 'Restaurants' en verdenrangliste over de bedste restauranter i verden. I år vandt Osteria
Francescana fra Modena i Italien konkurrencen med sin 1. plads.
I alt 1040 anonyme fagfolk – kokke, skribenter og berejste gourmander –afgiver hver især 10 stemmer, og det samlede resultat danner
grundlaget for kåringen af verdens bedste restauranter.
Danmark har én restaurant med på listen, det er Geranium fra København.
Thailand har to restauranter med på listen. Begge ligger i Bangkok.
Restauranten Gaggan har en fornem 5. plads på listen, og er desuden kåret som den bedste restaurant i Asien.
Restauranten Nahm kom ind med en 49. plads på listen.
